Recent results on SHA-1 and SHA-256

Cryptanalysis of hash functions received much attention recently. In this talk, we first survey recent results on SHA-1. Subsequently, we present a preliminary analysis of the SHA-256 message expansion.

Biography: Christian Rechberger is currently a PhD student with Prof. Vincent Rijmen at IAIK Krypto Group. He graduated with a diploma thesis "Side-Channel Analysis of Stream Ciphers".
